Is this box the long-awaited Baofeng Killer? Will it meet the Chinese challenge that has kicked the chair out from under cheap hand helds everywhere?
Well, there is good news at last. The ever indefatigable Indiana Jones, at age 111, has unearthed the long lost Tom Swift Handy-Carry Two Way Radio from the water-logged snake pit in the Temple of Progress at San Francisco's 1939 Treasure Island Worlds Fair!
Originally intended as a prototype for Dick Tracy's wrist watch, the Tom Swift Handy-Carry was stolen by Japanese agents and thrown to the snakes in order to cripple American war readiness before Pearl Harbor. Its secret design is now revealed to be an incredibly innovative circuit featuring glowing glass tubes arranged in a superhet configuration manufactured for free by glass blowing puffer fish. Not being a Software Defined Radio, or even digital, nobody can copy it. Its a mystery how it works.
So there you have it. A home-grown answer to the evil Baofeng - just in time to rescue us from perfidious Chinese Tariffs and the COVID-19 virus!
